TED THOMPSON MSc, SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Mr. Thompson provides planning, design, procurement and operational leadership advice for airport and systems projects. Mr. Thompson is a seasoned industry expert in airport and air navigation systems, equipment, facilities and services. Mr. Thompson holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and a Masters in Aviation Systems from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining LPS AVIA, Mr. Thompson served as Chief of Systems Engineering for Transport Canada, Project Manager of the $80 million Canadian Air Space Systems Plan, and Manager of Display Systems for Canada’s Radar Modernization Project. Mr. Thompson has overseen development of the multi-modal Nunavut Transportation Strategy, Long Range ETOPS/LROPS air navigation and polar route studies, as well as the planning, installation and commissioning of electronic systems at airports in China and Canada. Skilled in cross-cultural environments he recently completed the tri-national Russia-Alaska-Canada Air Links Study following an extensive consultation and research program spanning three countries. He has most recently completed a number of aviation impact assessments of proposed wind farm projects.
